UST Compliance Assistance

We offer a full range of underground storage tank regulatory compliance closure and services. Our staff can:

Manage the services needed to upgrade an existing UST system, or if the tanks are no longer needed, remove and dispose the tanks;

Facilitate preparation of necessary permit and/or license applications;

Observe and report on the field work;

Prepare updated closure documentation required by state and municipal regulators; and

Provide you with a report that clearly documents the work.

MCP and Licensed Site Professional Services

Should you need to assess or clean up a spill of oil or hazardous material, LEEI can help you meet your obligations under the MCP, from notification of regulatory authorities to closure. We have broad experience in the preparation of all phases of MCP compliance submittals. The complexity of our projects ranges from residential fuel oil releases to large industrial sites with chlorinated solvents present in the bedrock.

Our focus is on helping you to meet your obligations using cost-effective and efficient solutions. We have the capacity to assess the extent of the problem, develop a regulatory strategy, and if necessary, clean up the contamination so you can move forward. Our internal project database is designed to track upcoming regulatory compliance milestones so that regulatory submittals are completed on time.

21J UST Reimbursement Fund

If you own or operate an eligible UST system and have had a spill, we can help you access the Massachusetts Underground Storage Tank Petroleum Cleanup Fund, commonly known as the “21J Fund.” The 21J fund offers eligible claimants reimbursement for cleanup costs. Our staff has extensive experience assisting clients ranging in size from international petroleum corporations to family-owned and operated gas stations to gain access to the fund and managing the preparation of timely reimbursement request submittals. We can also help you negotiate with regulators should disputes arise.
